Working towards my September deadline for getting the external caravan storage yard completed; with the help of some top blokes, we set to putting the last 9 fence posts in and lay down the ducting ready for some electricity cables. It only took 3 hours after we prepped the site the day before, to get … View this gallery
I’ve not posted for quite a while now. Not that things have stopped on the site, but admittedly developments have slowed down, mainly due to weather conditions, but also because piles of mud being used to fill and level areas on the site, don’t make for particularly good photos. 😉
So, bringing you up to speed on what’s been going on for the past few months.
Ring road now completed
One of the main roadways into and around the site, has been completed to the stage where it will just need smoothing out a little, and then topped with gravel. This helps during these winter months with navigating around the site with heavy machinery and allowing constant access to monitor the site without getting stuck.
CCTV & Security Alarm system
Over the past few weeks, we’ve had a complete state-of-the-art security system installed ready to provide security and protection for our customers wishing to store caravans on site. This system consists of 24 hour remote monitored CCTV IR dome cameras and an intruder alert system which signals the loudest alarm I have ever heard!!
Since the CCTV and alarm systems were installed we have been busy taking on caravans for internal storage while we wait for approval from SKDC for external storage permission, and have a few places left still, but very happy we’ve started trading at last.
It only took BT and OpenReach FOUR MONTHS to get a new telephone line installed, quite an achievement really! SO, we now have a direct line for you to contact us on and arrange for your caravan storage. 01778 561 225.
This has also allowed us to start promoting this new number and hence have a second sign at the front entrance now, which will hopefully bring in some business.
A legacy of past times, still clings on to a large area of the site – POTS – we have a huge amount of pots to get rid of, as they won’t all become hardcore and only a certain amount of road is needed!!! SO, if you have any leads for any business or individual; wanting these pots we are pretty much giving them away for £10 a pallet! Contact me for details and a visit.
Yesterday, a local firm came over to Cresslands holding in their sizeable van an arm saving device! For over a year now, every time I needed to gain access to the storage unit for anything larger than will fit through an average sized door, I had to chain lift the roller shutter door manually. Being over 6m wide and made of metal, it’s HEAVY! – But now – ta-da we have a brand new motorised unit that does the hard work for me. Oh the joy of just pushing a button.
Today another monumental moment in the Cresslands development was reached – we have signage! The long deliberated over and carefully planned main sign for the top of the storage unit was delivered and expertly installed. It fits just right and proportionally spot on in my opinion. Very exciting, as it brings the whole project even … View this gallery
A monumental day today in the Cresslands development – We have POWER!!!
We’ve been waiting for this with eager anticipation for around 6 months now. We’ve overcome lots of hurdles and numerous plan changes along the way, to actually get electricity onto the site again! Whoop! 🙂
It all looks rather impressive and if I’m honest totally over my head – all I know is I now have a 13 amp socket I can plug stuff into. Happy Days.
This week, the large industrial unit or ‘shed’ got concreted. It’s now completely weatherproof and sealed from any animal gaps! We had several birds nests in here last year! If you are looking to over-winter your caravan get in touch for competitive rates and availability.
